Like many people posting on YouTube you are trying to find clever ways to get more Views, more Subscribers and a bigger audience.
In the first video we look at (and emphasize the importance of) Programming and Producing your videos to make them stand out from the rest.
Create content that is unique, innovative and entertaining.
Check out YouTube trends to see what’s Hip. Predict what people will be talking about in the future to be ready when they are searching for content. You can also make some compilations of your best work, do recaps or blooper reels.
Good quality production is very important. It doesn’t need to be a Hollywood production, just clear, in focus and an interesting set with good lighting or the use of Green screen technology.
Most Smartphones and digital cameras (and even newer webcams) have the ability to shoot at least 720p High Definition video which is enough resolution to be resized and shared around YouTube and embedded in Blogs and Sites across the web.
The First 15 Seconds
The first fifteen seconds are where someone decides to stay or go (and they have plenty of enticing options to choose over you on the right hand column of the screen).
Do not have a drawn out intro, use some intense music or breathtaking videos and then quickly introduce your content.
Call To Action
Usually asking someone to Subscribe, Share or mention their Blog or Site, a Call To Action is where you retain your audience. You could entice them with offers or exclusive content.
Make sure to also encourage comments to create some engagement and community around your content. You can help them with their questions, offer additional services, gather feedback or gather content and support for your next video.
Hook Them In
It is very important to release content frequently to create a place where people can rely on great content, therefore checking, viewing, sharing & engaging more frequently.
Make some friends!
It’s easy to find other YouTubers that are similar or compliment your content. You can send traffic back and forth between you and a colleague to increase traffic and brand awareness.
With YouTube Analytics you are able to see where and when you are getting traffic. By analyzing your data you can figure out optimal posting times, engagement times and how your audience is growing over time.
