In the past month design specifications have been leaking all over the internet, most of which are based on New case designs for Chinese manufacturers.
‘This Could Be What Apple’s iPhone 5 Looks Like’ according to MacRumors.
You might be surprised what you can learn from a case design.
The Next iPhone:
The 3D Renderings
In the past, renderings based on leaked case design specs have been incredibly accurate in predicting the designs for the new iPhones and iPads. MacRumors commissioned CiccareseDesign to create high quality 3D renderings made from the leaked case specs.
Increased Screen size
In this….case…we are seeing a significantly larger screen that stretches from end to end (width while standing) and stretches slightly longer (length while standing) by minimizing the ear peace and front facing camera area.
New Home button
The New home button is more of an oval shape to better accomodate your thumb or perhaps this is a transition into offering more space to include gestures in the future.
New Tapered edges
The tapered edges are very close to those of an iPod Touch. There has been rumor that Apple may abandon the glass backing found on the moderin iPhone in exchange from an aluminum back.
According to the leaked case design specs they are: 4.33″ x 2.36″ and .27″ thickness at the top and .21″ at the bottom
The iPhone 4 dimensions are: 4.5″ x 2.31″ x .37″.
Based on this comparison the design is actually shorter than the iPhone 4, but wider and thinner.
If these case specs prove to be as accurate as they have been in the past we are in for a big upgrade in the latest iPhone version. A leap, just as big, if not bigger from the change from the 3Gs to the iPhone 4.
