Twitter Ads were introduced on April 13, 2010, which offers “Promoted tweets” to appear in selective search results or trending topics.
Many users were initially upset about the offering, feeling that Twitter was selling out, yet Twitter had always been clear from the start that they would seek out some clever way of monetizing their service.
Potential customers were initially wary about how the results would compare to Facebook and Google Adwords but Clix Marketing’s David Szetela compared all 3 Social Media Ad platforms over the course of a year to see how the Twitter platform performed.
The results were surprising, not only did Clix Marketing get more Sales Promoting Social Media Guru Guy Kawasaki’s next book Enchantment: The Art of Changing Hearts, Minds, and Actions, but it was also much more affordable.
