A Quick Tip from Social Media Consultant and Blogger Mari Smith.
“This video explains how to view and process the new fan page Spam filter. It’s important to keep a close eye on this new filter as I’ve found the algorithms are a little too tight. Out of 29 posts I viewed caught in the Spam filter, a whopping 70% of them were *not* spam.
Unfortunately, your fans will wonder what happened to their post when it immediately disappears from your wall – perhaps thinking you’ve manually removed it. So, it’s important now to make sure you view the posts hidden from your wall under the new Spam filter – then unmark as spam.
If you choose to Report the post, you’ll be given an option to also permanently ban the fan if you so choose. If ever you accidentally ban a fan and want to “unban” them, you’ll have to scroll through all your fans ’til you find the person, then click the “Remove ban” button next to their name.”
